Wednesday Night Fun Racing :: Racing

15 SummerRacingAGbehind

Even in the laid back days of summer, sailers have the competitive urge. The great apres-race food and banter is also a lure. Every single Wednesday starting April 24 and running until September 11. Mark your calendars so you do not miss out on the "fun".

Race Series Director will assign special handicaps for each race.

Bay Race #1- April 28th :: Racing

Bay Race4 web

This year, the annual Bay Races will include a 'white sail' division where only the head and mainsail are used; no spinnaker. The hope is that sailers who would like to race and generallly improve sailing skills would find this the perfect opportunity. The course is straight-forward, from Schooner Cove around Mistaken Island into Northwest Bay and back. The race is reverse handicap with staggered starts, depending on boat rating, so first over the line is the winner. There is ALSO on offer, a 2-hour clinic on racing rules on April 5th. In ADDITION, you will be offered an experienced racer to join you on your boat to lend a hand. FURTHERMORE there is a terrific post-race BBQ at the Afterdeck.  These events alone (there is another Bay Race on September 15) make your annual club membership fee worth it..

More Details will follow.
