Fall Rally #1 —  Sep 17, 2023

Fleet Captain’s Preamble

Hi All,

This Sunday the 17th is the first rally.  Those that control the winds are not being too kind to us.
So, I have put together a course that has a fair number of shorter legs at the beginning.
The chart with a course in red is attached, as is the course description in links below.
Please print your own, I will not be providing copies for everyone at the skippers’ meeting.

Also, I am now accepting registrations for the Bay Race, October 1st.
You may send me your intention email now; please include -Skipper, -Boat Name, -PHRF (if known), boat length, number of crew.
There will be a social at the Nanoose Bay Cafe afterwards, the details are being worked out.  Messages about that will be sent out.
If you sign up now but find that you wont be able to attend closer to the date, that’s okay, I can scratch you off and we aren’t collecting money right now.

See you soon,           Eric

Fall Rally #2 — Oct 15, 2023

Fleet Captain’s Preamble

Hello All;

Well the weather seems to be slow; slow to get here and then just kind of hangs out.
The Instructions are attached below, as is the map of the route.

Bronwen and I are tied up this weekend, so Peter Milne will take care of the Skippers’ meeting.

Hope it’s a good time.            Eric

Fall Rally #4 — Nov 19, 2023

Fleet Captain’s Preamble

Hi All,

It seems that a fair number of people very much want to get out for a sail.  We had originally avoided this weekend because of the Grey Cup.
In an attempt to accommodate those two thoughts, I propose that we re-schedule Rally #4 for this Sunday, 11/19, but that we alter the timing
a little to allow people to get home in time to watch.  Since we are back on Standard time the earth has had the same amount of time
to warm up, but earlier on our clocks.

I propose:  the same “Zig Zag” course;  Skippers’ Meeting at 9h30 PST;  all boats Start at 10h15 PST;  Rally finishes at 14h15 PST.

We can discuss it at the meeting, but my thought was to go back to 10h00 meeting and 10h40 start on 11/26 (gives more time for the ‘warm up’).

The course (w/ old {wrong} date and times) and map are attached below.  [Also, a second email concerning the “wind up party” 12/03 will appear soon.]

If you can, fire me a quick note if you Can/Can Not make it on Sunday.

Cheers,          Eric
