About SCYC Fun Fleet Regatta

Each fall, SCYC stages its famous Fun Fleet Regatta. With the focus on fun, all members are encouraged to get out on the water, then join in the post-race social festivities. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the Fleet Regatta so let’s get all club boats out on the water to mark the occasion. The Fleet Regatta will take place on Sunday, September 8th, 2024

VIEW RESULTS

This year the race will be a “Bang and Back” format. Vessels start at the same time and sail as fast as they can around the course until the lead vessel crosses the finish line. Then vessels are called on VHF to turn around and sail the course back in the opposite direction. The order of finish will be as vessels complete the course in reverse. There will be no handicap appied, so no PHRF is required.

Whether you are new to sailing or an experienced racer, you’ll be sure to have fun. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place as well as fun spot prizes for on-water antics. The focus is on participation and having fun.

REGATTA REGISTRATION (ON-WATER)
Please provide the following information to register your boat and crew for the 2024 Fleet Regatta. This year we will sail a "bang and back" race, where boats start at the same time, race until the lead boat crosses the finish line then all boats turn around and race back to the start/finish line. The Skipper's Meeting is at 10:00 a.m. and the race will start at 11:00 a.m.

WAIVER AND RELEASE I hereby acknowledge the safety of a yacht and its crew is the sole responsibility of the skipper/owner. I agree to be bound by the rules and regulations established for this event. I represent to the Schooner Cove Yacht Club that my vessel has liability insurance currently in effect covering property damage, personal injury and death in an amount not less than CAD $2,000,000 per occurrence and that the policy covers yacht racing activities. I agree to save harmless and keep indemnified Schooner Cove Yacht Club, its organizers and officials with respect to death, injury, loss or damage to myself, my yacht or any member of my crew, and representatives from and against all claims, actions, cost, expenses and demands in however caused, arising out of or in connection with my taking part in this event notwithstanding that the same may have been contributed to or caused or occasioned by the negligence of the same bodies, or any of them or their officials.I further understand and agree that this release is binding on myself, my heirs, executors and assigns.
