A Message from our Commodore,

The Fall Rally Series is turning into a horserace. After four rallies, Spud is in the lead with 23 points.  But they better not rest on their laurels just yet!  There are three boats with 22 points nipping at their heels. (See attached score sheet)

Last Sunday’s rally was interesting.  It started off in a heavy fog with 10 kt of NW wind (all the weathermen said the winds would be SE).  It was a reminder of how difficult it is to hand steer in fog.  All the boats found their way to the bottom of Northwest Bay before the wind turned off.  We then had to rely on the ebbing current to carry us out of the Bay.  None of the boats made it much past the north end of Mistaken Island and had to motor home after four legs.

At the moment, the weather is not looking very exciting for our next rally on Sunday.  Light winds, cold and rainy. Lets hope for change.  It can only get better. Attached is the course for Rally #5.

Go/No Go will be announced Saturday evening of early Sunday morning.
